Stockings have been hung with care. Who knew CVS carried stuff like this? And who knew knit stockings were so costly. Thank goodness for fleece and felt.
Riddle guarding the stockings, especially her own. Yes, we got a stocking for Riddle. It was bone shaped and I couldn't pass it up. She's just so cute and also deserves treats from Santa.
With Jamie away I was able to purchase, wrap and decorate his Christmas presents. There was only one fatal flaw in my plan: Riddle's got a sniffer stronger than expected, so when we came home on Monday she had opened one of Jamie's presents. Well, it wasn't opened, but she had unwrapped a large container of chocolate covered almonds. Luckily she couldn't break through the plastic. That would have been bad.
I proctored my exam this morning and Jamie gives his tomorrow. Once 3pm rolls around, vacation is truly on. Yes we're going to miss seeing our family and friends, but there's something so relaxing and easy about staying here. It's a welcome mid-year break we've never had and one we're quite excited for. Jamie's got a few projects lined up and I've got lots of reading and napping in the mix. There are also some nights out in the city (finally using some gift certificates we've had for ages) and dinners with friends. In all, the holiday break is shaping up to be fabulous and fun.
