The ladies in my life

As previously mentioned, I get a little lazy when Jamie's not home. I revert into a couch loving, RomCom watching, sack of donuts. But more than that I seem to find ways to spend more time with the gals in my life than usual, and it all started on Thursday night. I met with my knitting group and we had an epic 3-hour chat fest. It was awesome and we didn't do any knitting. We swapped stories of the holidays, shared some unwanted yarn, and laughed, laughed, laughed. When I finally got home close to 10pm, I was beaming, giddy with girl time fun in my heart. Saturday and Sunday included some time at the movies, Peet's, the Farmer's Market, the phone, all with some of my nearest and dearest. It's on weekends like this when I think 1. I do not like being away from Jamie for long periods of time but 2. I am so fortunate to have a loving group of women present in my life both near and far. I am constantly reminded of the strength I draw from strong-willed and humorous women who care for me as they would a sister or daughter or niece. At times, I still feel my mother's absence so strongly I am moved to tears, but I am reminded that I see her in each of my friends. Unkie always tells me she's with me, and this weekend was no exception.

Jamie comes home in t-minus one hour. Not a fan of the late night airport run, but I'm pretty pumped to be picking up my guy! What I really can't wait for is the look on his face when he sees all the presents under the tree. The elves were busy this weekend. Really busy.

A week from today we'll have been on vacation for three days. But who's counting ...

A big shout out to my friend Megan all the way in Tennessee. It's her big bad birthday on Monday! First birthday as a mom and a mom of two. It's a big birthday.
