Top 10 of Christmas ... songs

I've been listening to Christmas songs since the day after Thanksgiving. I've snuck in moments of the holiday while grading, while sitting in my office prepping for class, while baking, while prancing around the house. As happens almost every year, once Thanksgiving passes I become hopelessly in love with Christmas. The sights. The sounds. The scents. I don't know what it is, but it just makes me happy. And while this year brought us new traditions and locations, the music of Christmas brought great joy to our days. So here is our Top 10 list of music to make you smile/dance/prance/celebrate. Sure the holiday is over, but a little Christmas spirit year round never hurt anyone. And besides, tomorrow is Jamie's birthday, so there's still time to celebrate!

10. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas — Luther Vandross (A voice like butter. RIP Luther)
9. Santa Claus is Coming to Town — Bruce Springsteen OR Jackson Five  (An elementary school staple)
8. Frosty the Snowman — Jimmy Durante (I cried when Frosty melted in the greenhouse)
7. White Christmas — Frank Sinatra (Classic Frank!)
6. Happy Christmas — John Lennon (Nice message)
5. A Wonderful Christmas Time — Paul McCartney (Solid video. Jamie's fave)
4. All I Want for Christmas — Mariah Carey (Love Actually, anyone?)
3. Last Christmas — Wham (Who doesn't love George Michael? This is pre-Faith)
2. This Christmas — Donny Hathaway (dedicated to Kerry & Claudia)
1. Do They Know It's Christmas Time — Band Aid (check out the rockers in this one! And yes, I know all the words)

Lots of love and merriment from here.
